Customer Review: S9-HD headphones good; D650 not so much
First of all, I have no problem with the headphones themselves. I've had this product for about a month and they do everything they're supposed to - including use with my Motorola phone and iPod. I've used it at home, at the gym and outside on a hike. Sound is good. Battery life is not the greatest, but I knew that going in. My problem is with the D650 iPod adapter. This thing is EXTREMELY sensitive. It pairs easily with the iPod, but after that - if you want good, uninterrupted music playback, you better not touch the thing. I've found that only slight pressure applied to the front or back of the adapter causes the bluetooth connection to momentarily be interrupted (about 10 seconds before the connection is regained). Not a big deal if the iPod and adapter are left alone on a desk, but if you're using at all to work out, chances are the adapter will touch either the protective sleeve holding the iPod or your arm if it's on your arm, or it'll rub against your clothes if you have it in your pocket. I took this to the gym and hiking/running a few times since I got it, and each time I had music interruption issues. So - I bought the Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter just the other day. It's a bit pricey, but totally worth it. I've had not problems at all, plus it's quite a bit smaller than the D650. I HIGHLY recommend you splurge a little for this over the D650.
Customer Review: Works great, except adapter received was faulty. Motorola stood behind it!
I received this product and it would not play music through the headphones after several attempts to pair. The buttons would operate the iPhone 3G and place a call, but the music was playing through the iPhone's speaker. I called Motorola and they asked a few questions, but offered immediately with no hassle to send out a new adapter. I had to give a credit card to guarantee I would return the defective one. Nothing charged to my card and adapter was sent next day. It works great and just returned the defective one. Now that is customer service!
